Small Group Material:
Week Commencing:
13 Mar 2011
Bible Base:
Psalm 23; Isaiah 43:1-3a

1)      Begin by looking at passages which speak of God walking with us in times of difficulty – examples are Psalm 23; Isaiah 43:1-3a. The group may have particular verses/passages that speak to them.
2)      Encourage the group to share their own experiences of God being with them in times of difficulty.
3)      Other passages speak of God being with his people are:- Exodus 3:7-12; Joshua 1:1-9; Jeremiah 1:4-8; Haggai 2:3-6; Matt 28:16-20. What do these passages have in common?
4)      Encourage the group to share experiences of God being with them when they had something to do for God.
5)      Think about the experience of the people of Israel in the desert after the Exodus. Is walking with God about asking God to be with us wherever we go? Who decides where we should go?
6)      The Bible often speaks about the way we live as our ‘walk’. Have a look at Ephesians 4:1 – 5:21. Ask the group to pick out what is required to ‘walk in a manner worthy of our calling’?
7)      How did Jesus sustain his walk with God?
8)      How can we restore our walk with God? What do different members of the group find helpful in sustaining their relationship with God?
