The sermon on March 15 concentrated on the cross as a demonstration of God’s victory over evil; and as a demonstration of God’s love.
 
1)      Share briefly your own understandings of the cross.
2)      What questions does the cross raise for you? (Be honest – it’s OK!!!)
3)      Demonstration of God’s victory over evil. Read Colossians 2:13-15. What were the forces (“powers and authorities”) that put Jesus on the cross?
4)      How did Jesus triumph over them?
5)      How does this triumph over evil affect and inspire us when we are confronted by sin and evil?
6)      If Jesus has triumphed, why is there still sin and evil about in the world?
7)      What sort of human situations does this understanding of the cross speak into?
